Sydney University Women's AFL

The AFL Sydney Womens Round 1 Rising Star nominee is Sandra Janjetovic of Sydney University.

After years playing soccer, touch football, touch football, hockey and some competitive boxing, Sandra played her first game of AFL last weekend against the 2011 women’s premiers Balmain Dockers. Sandra was thrown into the deep end by playing on last years leading goal kicker and managed to hold her to only 2 goals for the match.

Sydney University coach Krissie Steen was most impressed with Sandra’s debut and is expecting big things this year.

“Sandra has taken to the game like a duck to water. With her height (175cm), her speed and fearlessness I am expecting Sandra to continue to improve each week”.
